Nadcap is the abbreviation of “ National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program”. Nadcap launched and developed by American aerospace and defense industry giants and the United States Defense Department and SAE, is a system that specializes in special products and processes for aerospace industry. In 1990, the non-profit organization, the performance review institute (PRI) first issued the Nadcap standard. After that, all certification work and standard updates are also managed by PRI. Nadcap is aimed at high risk processes in the aerospace manufacturing system, mainly including nondestructive testing, material testing, heat treatment, chemical treatment, welding and so on. Each process includes a different number of specific processes. Enterprises can only obtain Nadcap certification in their respective processes they use , which will greatly enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.
